The City Institute is an interdisciplinary institute that brings together scholars working on urban issues from across the social sciences and humanities, particularly geography, environmental studies, planning, anthropology, sociology and political science. Its critical and collaborative research aims to comprehend and provide new approaches and knowledge to tackle urban complexity, building on its relationships with policy makers, NGOs and community groups in Toronto and beyond.
The Global Urban Dialogue with the City Institute explored why it was established, the urban problems that it tackles, and its distinctive approach to urban research.
