GenUrb includes a network of over 40 feminist activists and academics, who explore women’s placemaking strategies in six urban cities in the global south, including Cochabamba, Bolivia; Delhi, India; Georgetown, Guyana; Ibadan, Nigeria; Ramallah, Palestine; and Shanghai, China. A second aspect of the research is an examination of the SDGs, particularly SDG 5 (on women) and SDG 11 (on cities). The team also engage in public education and knowledge mobilization activities. We are in the sixth year of this partnership project and are currently focused on analysis and writing projects.
